Fourteen Algerian policemen have been injured in renewed clashes between Berbers and Arabs in Ghardaia, around 600 kilometers south of the Algerian capital Algiers, a security source said on Monday.
Scores of youths torched a police vehicle in Ghardaia late Sunday, leaving two policemen seriously injured, a security spokesman said.
Several homes were burnt down in the violence.
