Gunmen killed 15 soldiers in an attack on a checkpoint southeast of Libyan capital Tripoli on Saturday.
Three suspects have been detained for their alleged involvement in the attack on the checkpoint located between the southern cities of Bani Walid and Tarhuna.
The attack wounded five other soldiers at the checkpoint 60 km from Bani Walid, known as a northern stronghold of supporters of Libya's ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Libya's Chief of Staff called the attack “cowardly conduct organized by those trying to threaten the safety of the country and to stir up sedition.”
The Libyan government declared three days of mourning in the country.
A similar attack at deposed leader Muammar Gaddafi's hometown Sirte had killed 6 soldiers last June.Güncelleme Tarihi: 06 Ekim 2013, 12:05
