African Union leaders agreed to solve the problems of hunger and malnourishment at the "Hunger Summit" held in Addis Ababa

African Union aiming to end hunger in Africa by 2025

African Union leaders agreed to solve the problems of hunger and malnourishment at the "Hunger Summit" held in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.

At the summit, the member states of African Union decided to act together for ending maternal and child deaths and hunger problem.

The two-day conference on June 30th and July 1st was held under the theme “Towards an African Renaissance, renewed partnership to eliminate hunger by 2025 in the ambit of the Comprehensive African Agricultural Program (CAADP)."

The meeting was jointly organized by the African Union Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD), with the support of the Lula Institute as well as Ethiopia.
