At least 10 people were killed when an armed conflict occurred between army units and a tribal militia.
Sources stated that at least 10 tribal militia members died when fierce clashes kicked off between the army units and tribal militia in Nyala, the capital of the South Darfur state in the western part of the Sudan, late on Wednesday.
An official statement has not been released yet as fierce clashes continue in many districts of Nyala.
It is known that armed conflicts take place between the tribal militia and Sudanese army quite often in the Darfur state since 2003.
The UN report published back in 2008 noted that about 300,000 people have lost their lives during clashes and at least 2.5 million people were left homeless. On the other hand, the Sudanese government stated the death toll as 10,000.
