Benghazi police chief survives assassination attempt

 The city’s police chief escaped an assassination attempt late Wednesday, authorities told Anadolu Agency.  

Salah Huveydi survived the murder attempt in the Sidi Ferac region of western Benghazi, according to police spokesman Velid Al-Urfi. 

A bomb-laden vehicle attack on Huveydi's convoy resulted in an undetermined number of casualties but al-Urfi did not disclose if Huveydi was among those injured. 

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
