Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi will arrive in northern Sinai on Friday, in a tightly-controlled visit where he will meet with local tribal and Christian leaders.
Egyptian authorities refused to provide any details on the visit and noted that only Mursi's personal security guards know his movements during the high-security trip, reported Ma'an News Agency.
Northern Sinai was flooded with security forces from the early hours of Friday ahead of the president's visit.
Sources told Ma'an he will meet with several tribal chiefs and Coptic leaders from the Sinai. Mursi will also perform Friday prayers at a mosque in el-Arish, they said.
The Bishop of North Sinai Churches, Anba Qasman, arrived el-Arish on Friday morning to meet the president, Ma'an's reporter said.Güncelleme Tarihi: 05 Ekim 2012, 14:37
