Germany urges its nationals to leave Libya

World Bulletin/News Desk

The German Foreign Ministry has called on its nationals to leave Libya amid ongoing fighting between rival militias.

The ministry warned Germans against travelling to the north African state on its website on Sunday, saying the situation was extremely confusing and uncertain.

Foreigners also faced the risk of abduction, especially in the metropolitan areas of Benghazi and Derna, it said.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy has withdrawn its staff from the capital, Tripoli.
