A Libyan man succumbed on Sunday to injuries he had sustained a day earlier after gunmen had mistaken him for his brother, a high-profile security official in the eastern city of Benghazi.
Adel Huweidi was shot in the head and back when unidentified gunmen mistook him for his brother Salah, the head of the criminal investigation office in Benghazi.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Libyans have struggled to restore order to their country since the death of strongman Muammar Gaddafi three years ago.
The transitional government and its security forces, meanwhile, have struggled to contain the armed militias that helped overthrow Gaddafi but which held onto their weapons after the 2011 uprising.
