Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir headed on Saturday to Johannesburg to participate in the African Union Summit, Sudanese state radio said.
Al-Bashir, 71, who came to power in a 1989 military coup, was indicted by the International Criminal Court six years ago for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.
News reports had said on Wednesday that the Sudanese president will not attend the heads of states meeting on Sunday and that VP Bakri Hassan Saleh would lead the Sudanese delegation instead.
Al-Bashir has been in power for over a quarter of a century.Güncelleme Tarihi: 13 Haziran 2015, 17:52
