Riyadh ash-Shabi, member of Tunisian al-Nahda party council stated Thursday, army's seizing control of power in Egypt was a coup on legality and popular sovereignty.
Saying they supported the legal institutions in Egypt, ash-Shabi told AA in an exclusive interview that al-Nahda party's central executive council convened on late Wednesday to discuss the recent incidents in Egypt.
"Latest incidents happened yesterday is nothing more than a military coup d'eta executed on presidency and Mohamed Morsi, who was transparently elected by people. Army's seizing control of power in Egypt is a coup d'eta on legality and popular sovereignty," ash-Shabi said.
Ash-Shabi stated al-Nahda party will make an official statement, showing its own position.
