Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni will arrive in Addis Ababa on Friday for a three-day official visit to Ethiopia, an Ethiopian diplomatic source has said.
Museveni is scheduled to hold talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and other senior officials on ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy and security, the source told The Anadolu Agency.
The talks are also expected to dwell on regional peace and security, the source added.
Both Ethiopia and Uganda have contributed troops to an African peacekeeping mission in war-torn Somalia, which has remained in the grip of violence since 1991.
In 2011, the two countries signed a regional security operations deal that provides for both states to take common position on regional security affairs.
The agreement was also meant to allow for free movements of people between the two countries.
