Pope Francis of the Vatican has accepted an invitation to visit Tunisia, the presidency announced on Thursday.
"The Pope of the Vatican has accepted an invitation to visit Tunisia extended to him by President Moncef Marzouki," it said in a statement.
The presidency added that the date of the visit would be set in due course.
Marzouki, who is on a visit to Italy, met with the pontiff on Thursday to discuss Tunisia's transition and coexistence between Muslims and Christians in the North African Arab country, the statement said.Güncelleme Tarihi: 12 Eylül 2014, 10:00
