In Pensilvania Pittsburgh a restaurant, PA's Conflict Kitchen, has come under fire by some members of the city's Jewish community on the grounds that they're upset that the restaurant is serving Palestinian food.
There's not only something interesting, for those of not familiar with Conflict Kitchen, about restaurant's , but also the reason why the food they has chosen in the menu.
The restaurant has some schedules about what kind of food to be served. The restaurant's menu changes regularly on a three-to-five month rotation, “always features food from a country with which the US is currently in some sort of conflict.”
For Jon Rubin, one of the restaurant's co-founders, to chose menu from countries with which the US has issues wasn't Conflict Kitchen's only purpose, it's also supposed to be a lunchtime place for whom come from Afghanistan, Latin America, Iran and and throughout the Middle East.
“This isn't about Conflict Kitchen's cuisine choice, in which served food from Afghanistan, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, and Venezuela so far, presenting a one-sided discussion towards the Middle East,” in its website “kitchenette.com” blogger C.A. Pinkham quoted as summing up Jewish people's attack.
“It's about the desperate need among certain parts of the American Jewish community to do everything possible to keep from allowing Palestinians to be humanized.” he concluded.
But Director of Community Relations Council at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh Gregg Roman "Conflict Kitchen's focus on countries in conflict is honorable, but Palestine is not in conflict with the U.S. The restaurant is stirring up conflict for the sake of trying to be relevant." said, using a very offensive language style.Güncelleme Tarihi: 10 Ekim 2014, 15:04
