Protests against the NSA's global cyber and phone spying activities of millions of people was took place in the US.
Groups using the slogans of "Stop spying on us" gathered in San Francisco, Boston, New York and Washington by the leadership of several organizations including the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and Fight for the Future, and protested the spying activities of the US National Security Agency (NSA).
During demonstrations, civil society members underscored that the track of NSA was contrary to the Act 4 of the US constitution and demanded for the protection of Act 4 as it is against the tracking of citizens for no reason.
Protestors in different cities of the US opened banners saying, "Who will control the ones spying" and "I was born in 1984 and reject to die in 1984" referring to George Orwell's book.
Members of the US society vocalized their demands of obtaining more details in regards to the transparency and use of data received by the NSA and spying programs of NSA.
Human Rights organizations show reaction as well
Many human rights organizations also showed reactions against the spying activities of people's private communications and its uncertainty of limitations and legal foundation.
Executive Director of the New York based Human Rights Watch (HRW), Kenneth Roth noted in his article in regards to the topic that spying private communications has to have limitation and boundaries.
Bertelsmann Foundation Transatlantic Relations Director Tyson Barker also commented on the phone spying activities of the NSA on diplomats of various countries and EU institutions.
Barker touched on the inconveniency of the issue in US and said the scandal of spying activities on European countries and the EU offices could knockout the "soft power" image of the US.
