Turkish basketball player, publicly known as "Hedo", will join NBA team Phoenix Suns.
The Suns is planning to get Hidayet Turkoglu, nicknamed "Hedo", and send guard Leandro Barbosa to the Toronto Raptors.

Turkoglu is currently playing for Toronto Raptors at the U.S. professional basketball league NBA.

"I have to go to the United States and undergo some tests for this exchange," Turkoglu told AA correspondent on Monday.

Turkoglu said maybe the doctors would come to Turkey to run the tests because he was eager to join Turkish national team before the World Basketball Championship to take place in Turkey.

"Phoenix Suns is a successful team, and I hope I can play my best basketball I have been longing for," Hedo said.

As a free-agent, the 31-year-old Turkish player signed a 53-million USD contract with Toronto Raptors in July 2009, and agreed to play for this NBA team for five years.

Hedo started his NBA carrier with Sacramento Kings in 2000 and moved to San Antonio Spurs and then to Orlando Magic in 2004 as a free agent. He is one of the first two Turkish basketball players playing in NBA with Mehmet Okur, or Memo, of Utah Jazz.

Turkoglu has been the Turkish basketball player who has played the most in NBA.
