Agreement about Turkish-German university initialed

Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ertugrul Apakan and German Ambassador in Ankara Eckart Cuntz on Thursday initialed an agreement regarding establishment of Turkish-German university.

According to a statement released by German Embassy, "another step has been taken for the establishment of the university after the agreement was initialed. As the next step, Germany party will listen to the views of the provinces and related institutions."

The statement said the agreement aims at deepening cooperation of Turkey and Germany in education, noting that this university has a symbolic meaning.

The university, planned to be established in Istanbul, will be opened with four faculties; Faculty of Law, Economics, Culture & Social Sciences, Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Students from Turkey and Germany will be able to enter the university and there will be diploma equivalence in both countries.
