Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha said Thursday that he would convey to Muslim leaders, during the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Summit in Senegal next week, the importance of supporting Kosovo and to acknowledge it.
Berisha said the meeting of Muslim leaders in Dakar on March 13-14 would be an opportunity for him to brief them on the situation in Kosovo and how its independence was "the best and only option."
The Albanian premier hoped the OIC Summit would take a positive decision regarding Kosovo, adding that he did not think that Muslim nations would refuse to acknowledge its independence.
Albanian is the only European country with OIC membership, while Bosnia-Herzegovina maintains an observer status.
