APHC deplores India's indifferent attitude

In Srinagar, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, in a high-level meeting today, deplored India's indifference towards proposals of demilitarization and self-governance in Kashmir.

The meeting was presided over by APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and attended by the leaders of the constituent parties. Mirwaiz briefed the participants about APHC leaders' visit to Azad Kashmir and Pakistan, which he termed as perfectly successful. He lauded Pakistan President, Gen Pervez Musharraf's sincerity and seriousness towards resolving Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris' aspirations. The meeting took strong exception to stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. 

APHC leader, Bilal Ghani Lone, addressing his party workers in Srinagar said, the proposals of demilitarization and self-governance in Kashmir will create a stable basis for seeking permanent solution of Kashmir dispute. 

Chief spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Muhammad Rafique Ganai, addressing a press conference in Srinagar today demanded release of party Chairman, Shaikh Abdul Aziz and all other Kashmiri political prisoners, languishing in various jails of occupied Kashmir and India. He urged India to reciprocate Pakistan's proposals regarding resolution of Kashmir dispute.
