A Armanian coalition party says that it will stage a series of protests during Turkey President Abdullah Gul's possible visit to Armenia.
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun party (ARFD), which is part of the Armenian coalition government, intends to hold a series of protests during Turkey President Abdullah Gul's possible visit to Armenia, reported Interfax.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan had earlier invited Gul to visit Yerevan and together attend a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier between the Armenian and Turkish national football teams on September 6. Turkey has not yet officially confirmed that Gul will go to Yerevan.
Vaan Ovannisian, the head of the ARFD parliamentary faction, said he was not against the establishment of friendly relations between Armenia and its neighbors despite Some ARFD members called on everyone to join the protests against the Turkish president's arrival.
