Armenia accepted a plan to shut down the Mezdamor nuclear power plant located near the Turkish border this week.

For decades the country has faced international pressure for continuing to operate the plant considered one of the most dangerous nuclear plants in the world.

The plant operates with old technology and is located in an earthquake zone, endangering both Turkey and Armenia.
