Assembly of the Turkish-American Associations (ATAA) starts a new initiative to determine number of Turkish people living in the United States.
ATAA Chairman Gunay Evinc told a news conference that ATAA and U.S. Census Bureau signed a partnership agreement, noting that accordingly ATAA would pioneer a campaign launched to assess number of Turkish and Turkish descent people living throughout the United States. He said a census forum would be sent to every house in the United States in 2010.
The United States Census Bureau is the government agency that is responsible for the United States Census. It also gathers other national demographic and economic data.
As part of the United States Department of Commerce, the Census Bureau serves as the leading source of quality data about America's people and economy. It is the official "decennial" count of people living in the USA.
