The presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia held "serious and constructive" talks on the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh on Thursday and will meet again soon, U.S. ambassador Robert Bradtke said.

The outcome of the talks in the Moldovan capital Chisinau have been seen as a key to easing the way for a restoration of normal relations between Armenia and Turkey.

The meeting "continued a positive dynamic in the discussions. The discussions were serious and constructive ... They have agreed to meet again in the near future," Bradtke told reporters.

Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia's Serzh Sarksyan met for a total of 3 hours 20 minutes at the residence of the U.S. ambassador to Moldova.
