California-based company One2Believe is launching a range of toys and dolls aimed at Christian families.

The 'Tales of Glory' toys feature characters from the Old and New Testaments, including Samson and Goliath (see photo), Moses, and Mary and Jesus ".

The toys, priced from 6 to 25 dollars, will be available at 3,500 Walmart stores across America and some smaller retailers. They can also be bought online from the company website.

"We have had a couple of hundred orders in the last 7-10 days, from the US, Canada and South Africa," One2Believe's press spokesman Josh Livingstone told Adnkronos International (AKI). One2believe is pleased with these orders given that it will not begin shipping the toys until next month, Livingstone said.

Some of the dolls, such as the Spirit Warriors range will appeal more to boys, while the P31 dolls, which come complete with cookie recipes, are aimed at girls, Livingstone told AKI.

"The idea is that little girls can bake the cookies under their parents' supervision and then do a good deed, maybe by taking them to an old person," he said.

The 3 inch high Tales of Glory figurine collection and playmats are pitched at pre-school children, he said. They include such Old Testament characters as Daniel, Jonah and the whale, Noah and his animals, as well as a Nativity set and Jesus walking on the water from the New Testament.

One2Believe's founder David Socha, a Roman Catholic and businessman is keen to roll out the 'Tales of Glory' superheros to Christians round the world and engage children in the faith by "bringing the stories from the Bible to life."
