Blast heard in Chechnya's Grozny

A blast was heard in the capital of mainly Muslim republic of Chechnya on Friday, a Reuters witness said.

The witness quoted bystanders as saying a suicide bomber had detonated explosives near a shop in Grozny. There were casualties but their number was not known, the witness added.
