Following today's initial evaluations, the EU Commission will meet on Wednesday morning to give a final shape to the highly-anticipated Progress Report and strategy documents.
The strategy document is particularly important this year in light of the Cyprus problem and Ankara is curious whether the commission will offer advice to European leaders on the subject.
It is also possible that the commission will not advise anything and instead save the issue for the leaders' meeting on December 14-15.
EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn will reportedly leave the decision up to European leaders; however, some commissioners insist that at least some of the chapters regarding the Customs Union Agreement should be suspended.
Diplomatic sources emphasize that the Commission will most likely avoid advising a total suspension of negotiations.Güncelleme Tarihi: 20 Eylül 2018, 18:16
