At least 10 Pakistani security men were killed and scores others injured in a bomb attack Sunday in Pakistan's mountainous Swat valley in North West Frontier Province (NWFP), the army said.
Military spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad told the state-run television that 29 soldiers were also injured.
He told PTV that three improvised devices exploded when the army convoy was heading to Matta, a town, some 25 kilometers from Mingora, the largest city in the Swat valley.
Arshad said that all the injured were evacuated from Matta and the area was cleared after a few hours of the attack. He said that the convoy had now reached its destination.
He said that 4 civilians were also killed in the blasts.
However, TV channels earlier put the death toll of security forces at 12.
They also reported that it was a suicide attack but Arshad denied the report of suicide attack.
A suicide bomber crashed his car with convoy of security forces in North Waziristan tribal region on Saturday, killing 24 soldiers.
