First round of the election was already held, but none of the candidates received the required number of votes. At least 126 votes (the absolute majority of 250 members) are necessary to be elected as the new chairman.
If the second and third rounds would be inconclusive, two candidates
--who gained the highest votes in the third round-- will compete in the fourth and fifth rounds.
Osman Arslan, former chairman of the Supreme Court, retired and vacated his seat on Monday.
