The European Union's executive arm recommended on Wednesday that the bloc start membership talks with Macedonia, EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said.
"We are now able to recommend the opening of accession negotiations with the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia. The country has made convincing progress," Rehn told a news conference.
