First assembly meeting of Turkic-speaking states end in Baku

The first general assembly meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries (PATC) ended in Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday.

A declaration was issued at the end of the meeting.

It said the cooperation in PATC was an important tool to enhance political, economic and cultural relations among member countries.

The declaration said that participants of the meeting decided that PATC's secretariat general would serve in Baku.

After the meeting, parliament speakers of PATC member countries held a press conference.

Azerbaijan's Parliament Speaker Oktay Esedov said that PATC would contribute to development and prosperity of member countries.

PATC is an organization set up under an agreement signed by parliament speakers of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in Istanbul, Turkey on November 21, 2008.
