Four Turkish pilgrims die in holy land

Four Turkish pilgrims have died of natural causes during the annual hajj (pilgrimage) season in the Muslim holy sites in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Turkey's Religious Affairs Department said in a statement on Monday that the death toll among the Turkish pilgrims has risen to 32 since start of the rituals.

The reasons of the deaths included heart diseases or old age and cancer, the department said.

Up to 70,000 Turks went to Saudi Arabia this year for the annual pilgrimage season which fell in winter in Turkey.
