French carmaker Renault introduced its new model "Fluence" in its Turkey plant on Monday.
The all new Fluence will replace Megane II Sedan manufacturing at the existing assembly line of Oyak Renault plant, a joint venture of Renault and Turkey's Oyak.
Renault will make an additional 110 million Euro investment in Oyak Renault plant in Bursa for Fluence which will be shipped to more than 80 countries, said Tarik Tunalioglu,top executive of Oyak Renault.
The new Renault model will be globally launched at Frankfurt Auto Show on September 15, Tunalioglu said.
Oyak Renault will continue to manufacture the new Renault Symbol, three and five-door Clio and Clio Grand Tour in Turkey. Megane II Sedan manufacturing will halt, Tunalioglu said.
Renault Fluence, the new C-segment four-door was designed with the aim of standing out as the most attractive car of its class. It targets customers looking for a status-enhancing saloon.
Entry-level Renault Fluence models will be equipped with ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency braking assist, with automatic activation of the hazard warning lights, ESC (electronic stability control) with CSV understeer control, three-point inertia-reel seatbelts, with pretensioners and load limiters for the front seatbelts, inertia-reel seatbelts with load limiters for all three rear seats, driver and passenger airbags, two lateral thorax airbags and two curtain airbags, warning alert if driver or passenger seatbelts are unfastened, three-point Isofix anchorage for outer rear seats, cruise control with speed limiter, latest-generation headrests.
The Fluence will have two petrol engines, each available in two versions 1.6 and 2.0, and a choice of five variants of the 1.5 dCi diesel engine.
The Fluence will be offered to Turkish market in November but will also arrive in Russia and Romania, two major markets especially for Megane II Sedan.
