Greek journalists, lawyers, doctors, pharmacists and engineers will hold a 24-hour warning strike on Wednesday and either a work stoppage or a 24-hour strike on Thursday, Greek news agency ANA-MPA said Tuesday.
ANA-MPA said that its news services will be off-line between 6 a.m. (0400 GMT) Wednesday and 6 a.m. (0400 GMT) Thursday, and from 12:00 (1000 GMT) to 15:00 (1300 GMT) hours on Thursday.
No newspapers will be published on Thursday.
The trade unions of professionals and journalists are escalating their warning strike action to protest against the planned unification of their social security funds.
According to ANA-MPA, the striking professionals will gather in central Athens at 11 a.m. (0900 GMT) on Wednesday before marching to the employment ministry and Parliament to submit their demands.
