In his message, President Gul expressed his deep sorrow over the death of Aytmatov, a prominent author of the Turkish world.

Aytmatov, a prominent author, translator, journalist and the best known figure in Kyrgyz literature, passed away in Nuremberg, Germany on June 10th.
