Abu Obaida, spokesman for Ezz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, said that the recent interrogations on some collaborators led to the discovery of some spies who were suspected of being involved in the assassination of a number of resistance leaders, including the late Hamas leader Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi who was killed in 2004.

While denying the spies were affiliated with his movement, the spokesman rejected to make the names of the spies public for security reasons.

Hamas has been ruling the Gaza Strip since mid-June when the Islamic movement routed security forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and took control of the Gaza enclave.
