How will the AK Party case proceed?
The chief prosecutor of the Court of Appeals, Abdurrahman Yalcinkaya, demanded president Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former parliament speaker Bulent Arinc and 71 AK party seniors banned from politics for five years.

First the Constitutional Court will examine the indictment and then decide whether to accept it or not.

If the indictment is accurate and complete, it will be sent to AK Party for pleading.

AK Party will have one month to plead. After the initial pleading is given to the constitutional court, the chief prosecutor of the court of appeals, Yalcinkaya, will give his opinion on the principal clause which will be sent to AKP.

Then Yalcinkaya will make an oral statement and AK Party will make oral defense.

Reporters will gather documents and proofs to prepare the report which will be submitted to 11 members of the Constitutional Court.

The Court will discuss the case; majority votes will be sought for closing down the party which means at least seven yes votes of 11 Constitutional Court members will be required.
