Meanwhile, massive joint military and police harassment campaign all across occupied Kashmir, has reached its peak, as the Indian Republic Day on January 26 draws nearer. Large-scale frisking, checking of vehicles, house raids and arrests are under way in Srinagar and all major towns of occupied Kashmir.
The menacing presence of the troops in district headquarters, particularly in Srinagar, is in evidence to frighten away the people from staging large-scale protest demonstrations on the Day, which is being observed as Black day on the call of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
The APHC, at its meeting in Srinagar today condemned in strong terms harassment of people by occupation authorities on the pretext of precautions, in the run up to the Indian Republic Day.
