The 2nd Consultative Meeting of Red Crescent & Red Cross Associations of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member-states organized by the Islamic Committee of International Crescent (ICIC) and Turkish Red Crescent Society began in Istanbul on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting at Grand Cevahir Hotel in Istanbul, ICIC Chairman Ali M. Buhedma said important matters would be discussed in workshops that would take place during the meeting.
ICIC was established to ease sufferings of people and assist international humanitarian projects, he said.
Turkish Red Crescent Society Director General and ICIC Deputy Chairman Omer Tasli said there was need for a collective mind and responsibility to find solutions to several problems in the world.
Nearly 200 representatives from 57 countries and five other observer countries are attending the meeting which will end on June 14th.
