Bahar's remarks came at the sidelines of the "Democracies Conference" held in the Qatari capital Doha where he attributed Israel's cancellation of its foreign minister Tzipi Livni's attendance to the Hebrew state's inability to face the world with "hands stained with innocent Palestinian blood".
He further said that Israel was killing the Palestinian democracy and fighting the Palestinian legitimacy by arresting more than 40 PLC members and PA ministers, who were democratically elected by the Palestinian people.
Livni alleged that she cancelled her visit to Doha due to the Qatari invitation of Hamas' representatives to attend the conference; the allegation was widely shrugged off by the participating countries.
Around 75 countries out of the 192 members in the UN attended the UN-sponsored meeting that opened on Sunday.
Furthermore, Bahar met with Fatah secretary-general and senior political leader abroad Farouk Kaddoumi, who is also attending the meeting, over the current political situation in the Palestinian arena.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of forming a national unity government based on the signed national harmony document, deeming it as the "suitable way to bail the Palestinian arena out of the current political impasse".
They further agreed to remain in continuous contact in a bid to strengthen the Palestinian internal front in face of all challenges surrounding the Palestinian populace.
