An Israeli air strike killed four Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, medical workers said, amid Egyptian efforts to broker a truce between Israel and groups in the Hamas-controlled territory.
The Islamic Jihad group said four of its members were killed when a missile struck their car near the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis.
An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed there had been an attack.
The truce, which officials said could be announced within days, is meant to end Israeli raids and killings in the Gaza Strip and rocket strikes against southern Israel.
