Soldiers raided Al Afaq television, a local station in the northern city of Nablus, seizing transmission equipment and computers from the station whose owner is considered close to Hamas, they said.

The army also seized computers in two media offices in Nablus also considered close to Hamas, they said.

An army spokeswoman said the military had closed "several" religious organisations, "including media belonging to Hamas in Nablus."

Separately, Hamas said that 13 of its members had been arrested by Palestinian security sources in the village of Yassid, north of Nablus.
