The Kazakhstan government decided on Tuesday to allow French military personnel and equipment to transit through the Central Asian state for Afghanistan occupation.

Foreign ministers of the two countries signed the transit agreement in the capital Astana after talks between visiting French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev.
