President of the International Strategic Research Organization (USAK) Sedat Laciner said Thursday "a land operation against PKK in north of Iraq will take place. It is impossible to think otherwise."
Speaking to the A.A, Laciner indicated that the Turkish Armed Forces will conduct a land operation into north of Iraq with cooperation from the United States.
"Contrary to what the Turkish public believe, the United States is not against the option of a land operation against PKK. The U.S. does not want a land operation without its participation," Laciner stressed.
"There are currently discussions taking place between Turkish and U.S. officials on the land operation. The topic of land operation has been extensively discussed between Deputy Chief of Turkish General Staff Gen. Ergin Saygun and Vice-Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. James E. Cartwright," Laciner underlined.
"The most critical point in north of Iraq is the support Barzani extends to terrorists. Barzani provides safe haven to terrorists in the region," Laciner also said.
