Lebanon Berri urged to allocate special session to elect president
The Lebanese Christian parties in the forces in the 14 of March bloc urged on Wednesday House Speaker Nabih Berri to allocate a legislative session to approve constitutional amendments to the election of the Army Commander Gen. Michel Suleiman as president of the republic.

The bloc said said in a statement read by the president of Falange Party Amin Gemayel that should the House Speaker does not respond with this demand, the government then must take all constitutional measures to ensure this demand is met.

The statement accused internal and regional powers of obstructing the process of electing a new president for Lebanon and the continuing of the presidential vacuum.

The Christians in March 14 bloc denounced today the assassination of director of operations in the Lebanese Army Command Brigadier Francois Alhaj who was killed in a blast earlier today.
