Libya says Lockerbie man released
The man convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing has been released from prison in Scotland and is being flown home by a son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, a Libyan government spokesman said on Thursday.

"(Abdel Basset al-)Megrahi has been released and is on his way home," the spokesman said.

"He is being brought home by Seif al-Islam on the same plane."

The Libyan, a former intelligence agent, was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
