A two day meeting of foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has kicked off at the International Convention Center in Putrajaya, political capital of Malaysia, with an inaugural speech by Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, early Monday to attend the meeting.
Senior officials of NAM had held expert sessions behind closed doors over the past two days to discuss the agenda of this foreign ministerial meeting.
The foreign ministers will discuss topics prepared by NAM senior officials and approve an agenda for the 14th summit of the movement slated to be held in Havana, Cuba, in September.
They will also review progress made in implementing decisions made in the 13th NAM summit.
The ministers will also exchange views on the topic "Towards a Dynamic Non-Aligned Movement: Challenges of the 21st Century" and present the result of their discussions to the Havana summit.
