New Dutch attack on Muslims

Even though Muslims were said to form from 2% to 5% of Denmark's population, they got attacked brutally with the offending cartoons ridiculing Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) which were published by Jyllands-Posten newspaper last year.

Many were surprised that the government would support such humiliation since Denmark was lately known for its high level of humanitarian and tolerance towards others, while many thought it was only protecting the freedom of speech.

Despite the fact that this problem is an issue until this moment, Muslims are attacked once again from the well-known anti-immigrant Dutch politician; Geert Wilders.

The 43 year-old Freedom Party leader assume that part of this freedom was to call Islam and the Prophet Muhammed violent. The Daily Telegraph reported that Walters believes that Europe is being taken over by Muslims and that this was against Europeans' social values.

Sarcastically, Wilders agrees that Europe should invest in Muslims only if they got rid of half of the so-called violent Qur'an and half of their beliefs.

He also asked for the ban of the burqa, which he described as "a medieval token of a barbaric time" in the Netherlands claiming that he was only looking after women's rights even if they want to wear it willingly.

He is convinced that governments are somehow forced to accommodate a "tsunami of Islamisation" that is fundamentally incompatible with European values.

"Islam itself is the problem. Islam is a violent religion," he told The Daily Telegraph, adding that allowing Muslims wear the burqa in the country or to have segregated swimming sessions so as not to offend religious sensitivities, amounts to "religious apartheid".

Wilders has gained 66% of support by the Dutch community even though Muslims occupy 6% of the Netherlands' population. He also used current tensions against Muslims like that taking place in London to prove his reasons behind the request for a ban on burqa.

"There is almost no country more politically correct than the UK. Look at the terrible things that happened in London after Madrid, you have more reason than most to make this debate transparent and public," he said.

Greet Wilders has been known for his biased stance against Muslims since he split from the Dutch liberals in September 2004 over their support to adding Turkey to the European Union.

After 600 death threats and being surrounded by police guards, Wilder is still against Muslims claiming they were reason behind losing his and his wife's freedom.
