Term president of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe issued a statement on Tuesday, welcoming an agreement between Turkey and Armenia to normalize relations.
"OSCE welcomes steps taken toward the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia," said Dora Bakoyannis, foreign minister of the OSCE term president, Greece.
Bakoyannis said the establishment of diplomatic ties between Turkey and Armenia would constitute a positive step not only for the South Caucasus, but also for the wider region.
"I am saluting steps taken by these two OSCE members for the normalization of their relations which would also contribute to the regional stability," Bakoyannis said.
Turkey and Armenia said Monday they had agreed to start "internal political consultations" to establish diplomatic ties and develop bilateral relations.
