Pakistani police have arrested seven men during a raid in Pakistan's southern commercial center in Karachi.
Pakistani police have arrested seven men during a raid in Pakistan's southern commercial center, accusing them of planning suspected attacks in the country's biggest city, Karachi.
Superintendent of Police Fayyaz Khan told said police raided in the upmarket Defence neighbourhood had rented a bungalow in the upmarket Defence neighbourhood where police raided.
Police claimed that they have linked to the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) group.
"We have recovered three suicide jackets, four AK-47 rifles, four pistols and 15 kg (33 lb) of explosives," he said.
Khan said one of the detained men, Muhammad Shahzad, had also been involved in planning an attack on former president Pervez Musharraf and another attack on former prime minister Shaukat Aziz.
LeJ one of the groups that fight the Pakistani and Afghan governments as well as foreign troops in Afghanistan, authorities said.
