PKK mine kills one village guard, two wounded in Turkey

One village guard was killed while two others were wounded when a mine possibly planted by PKK militants exploded in Uludere town of south-eastern province of Sirnak on Sunday.

The mine blast took place when village guards Murat Olmez, Zeki Olmez and Nebi Olmez were collecting wood. Murat Olmez died on the scene of the explosion.

The two other village guards have been taken to the Sirnak State Hospital in a military helicopter and are receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile, a militant surrendered to Turkish security forces in Silopi town of Sirnak province on Saturday evening.
