Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received a delegation of U.S. senators including U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman and Democrat Party senator Joe Biden, and John Kerry from Democrat Party and Chuck Hagel from Republican Party in Ankara on Friday.
Biden told reporters that they had very beneficial meetings both with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Erdogan, and they informed Gul and Erdogan about their meetings in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Biden said Turkey and the United States have common interests and targets.
On the other hand, Kerry said both Gul and Erdogan undertook important roles in holding of Pakistani elections in a constructive way.
Kerry said relations between Turkey and the United States are very important and strategic.
